Fire Alarm: February 21, 2023

Dear Forest Green Families,

We want to provide you with an update that led to a disruption this afternoon at Forest Green School. The Stony Plain Fire Department was dispatched to Forest Green School in response to a fire alarm at approximately 1:54 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Fire protocols were enacted immediately and effectively to ensure the safety of all of our staff and students. Students left the building and went to their designated meeting area. The fire department let the students in after an initial check of the building (about 12 min) and students went to the gym to finish waiting for the alarms to be turned off. Our day was able to resume as planned after about a 25 minute delay. Please note, that there were several students wearing tank tops and who did not have their shoes on when the alarm went off. This is a huge problem that we need your support in solving.  Please talk with your children to ensure they wear shoes inside the school and that in this weather they wear warm clothes.

Thanks to all the students and staff, the fire department and PSD's Facilities Services for such a great response. For further information on safety procedures, please familiarize yourself with Division emergency procedures.
